Bio
Rachel creates work that is expressive, bold, and graphic.
Focusing heavily on capturing mood and emotion through figures, faces, and subtle gestures, she uses ink and paint on paper to create vivid and daring pieces. Known for her striking contrast, nuanced line work, and direct compositions, she makes unspoken and elusive feelings visceral and bare. She often explores themes of femininity by pushing against and challenging traditional expectations of the female form, looking to express something that goes beneath the surface level.
She prioritizes being spontaneous and loose when creating, and believes her best work is raw, imperfect, and urgent.
Rachel is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and lives and works in Mobile, AL.
